Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no email and no password. Open the app, answer three short questions and you have a target.

Which devices and iOS versions does Bito support?

iPhone and iPad on iOS 18 or later. Logging by sentence needs iOS 26 and logging by photo needs iOS 27, both on a device with Apple Intelligence. On other devices those two options are hidden and everything else works.

Which languages does Bito speak?

English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Korean. Bito follows your device's language, and you can choose another one for Bito alone in the Settings app.

Can I use pounds, feet and inches?

Yes. Choose metric or imperial during setup, or change it later under You.

Your target

How does Bito set my daily target?

It estimates your energy use, applies your goal pace to get a weekly budget, then gives training days 10% more and rest days a little less. A rest day never drops more than 15% and never below your resting energy. Tap Why? on Today to see the numbers.

Why doesn't Bito add the calories I burned?

Burned-calorie estimates are rough, and adding them back is the most common way a tracker overshoots. Your energy use already includes your training, so the weekly total stays fixed and training only decides how it is spread across the days.

How does Bito know it is a training day?

From the training week you planned. A workout that arrives from Apple Health or a connected app makes that day a training day and re-spreads only the days still ahead. Past days never change, and eating over or under is never carried over.

Why did my target change?

With Bito Pro, your energy use is learned from your logs and trend weight once a week, starting after two weeks. It updates only when you logged at least 5 of the last 7 days and weighed in at least 4 times, and it moves by 150 kcal a week at most.

Logging

A food is missing. What can I do?

Use quick add for calories and macros, or create your own food. It is saved under My foods for next time.

Does Bito work offline?

Yes. Search, your own foods, label reading and logging by sentence or photo all work without a connection. Looking up a barcode you have never scanned needs one; Bito waits and finishes it when you are back online.

How accurate is photo logging?

It is an estimate. Bito names the foods and guesses the portions; check them with the sliders before saving. A barcode or a nutrition label is more exact.

I can't see photo or sentence logging.

They need Apple Intelligence: iOS 26 for sentences and iOS 27 for photos, on a supported device with Apple Intelligence turned on. Without it Bito hides them instead of showing something that will not work.

Apple Health and connected apps

What does Bito read and write in Apple Health?

It reads workouts, steps, active energy and weight, and writes your meals' energy and macros and your weigh-ins. Active energy is shown but never changes your target. You can change each permission in the Settings app under Health.

How do I connect Hevy?

With Bito Pro, go to You, then Connected, then Hevy, and paste the API key from your Hevy settings. Hevy gives API keys to Hevy Pro members. The key is kept in your device's Keychain.

How do I connect WHOOP, Oura or Polar?

With Bito Pro, pick the service under You, then Connected, and sign in on its own page. Bito never sees your password. If a connection expires, Bito asks you to reconnect and keeps using Apple Health in the meantime.

What about Garmin, Fitbit or Strava?

Not at the moment: their developer programs are closed to new apps or do not allow this kind of use. If they write your workouts to Apple Health, Bito already counts them.

Bito Pro

What does Bito Pro include?

Unlimited photo logging, adaptive targets, Hevy, WHOOP, Oura and Polar, suggestions shaped by the muscles you trained, full micronutrients and long-range insights, all widgets and the Live Activity. Logging and tracking stay free without it.

Which plans are there?

Monthly, yearly and a one-time lifetime purchase. The app shows each price in your currency before you buy.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open the Bito Pro screen and tap Restore. Purchases belong to your Apple Account, so they come back on every device signed in with it.

How do I cancel or get a refund?

Apple manages subscriptions and refunds. Cancel in the Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

Where is my data stored?

On your device. Weight and workouts live in Apple Health. Bito has no server that holds your logs and no account to tie them to.

How do I move to a new iPhone?

Bito does not sync between devices. Your logs move with an iPhone backup or Quick Start, and your weight and workouts come along with Apple Health.

How do I export my data?

Go to You, then Your data, then Export as CSV. It is free and includes every log.

How do I delete everything?

Go to You, then Your data, then Delete all data. This also removes what Bito wrote to Apple Health. Deleting the app removes everything Bito stored on that device.

Not medical advice

Bito gives estimates for healthy adults. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition or a history of disordered eating, talk to a doctor or dietitian before following any calorie target.
